The GE 7F and 7HA are 60 Hz heavy-duty frame gas turbines. The 7F family, in service since 1990, spans 201 MW (7F.04) to 239 MW (7F.05) simple cycle with more than 950 installed units producing about 175 GW across 11 countries. The 7HA H-class successor spans 290 MW (7HA.01) to 430 MW (7HA.03) with combined-cycle efficiency to 64%, and GE reports more than 200 H-class units ordered with 4 million fleet operating hours. These frames anchor utility combined-cycle plants and, increasingly, dedicated data center generation: Homer City in Pennsylvania is deploying seven 7HA.02 units for a 4.5 GW data center campus. Why it matters

GE reservations are effectively sold out through 2030 with a 116 GW backlog, so operating F-class capacity has repriced: gas plant M&A doubled to about 1.0 million USD per MW in 2025 and top PJM assets approach 1.9 million USD per MW. Who buys it

Utilities and IPPs buy F-class plants for baseload and capacity markets; data center developers and hyperscalers now acquire the same plants for campus power, as at Homer City. Buyers of loose 7F units are repowering developers and operators hunting rotors, cores, and AGP-upgradable machines. The trigger is the 2030-2031 new-unit queue and rising slot pricing.
