Company, brand and model

A corporate name, a product brand and a model designation answer different questions. Use the manufacturer profile to find the relevant equipment family, then confirm the complete model designation in the dossier and equipment records.

Legacy names and ownership changes

Older equipment may carry a name that differs from current documentation. Search the original name as well as the current brand. Where the catalogue documents a relationship, follow that explanation before assuming that two names describe identical equipment or support arrangements.

Engine and package supplier

The engine manufacturer may differ from the company that supplied the complete generating package. Record both identities, along with the generator and controls, when defining an equipment requirement.
